Went leee be fish this week. Was a little worried about this little hole in the wall. Was very surprise we all got some fish. I got the grouper some of us got the snapler and shrimp it was was awesome I've never had such good fish it was wonderful we tried to go again today and forgot it was Sunday they don't open on Sunday was I ever disappointed instead we went to the snook inn. They claim to have the best grouper sandwich no way that sandwich was nothing like the lee be fish. I will never judge a restaurant by the building again please try Le be fish it's going it's wonderful Maida

Lovely setting in Old Marco Island, plenty of space to eat outside between colorfully painted low shops. Full disclosure our first time and we may have ordered the wrong stuff but they were recompense by the woman who took our order. Boiled shrimp, fish sandwich and fish tacos. Tacos were alright, just a lot of fish wrapped in medium size tortilla. The boiled peal and eat shrimp were plain gross. Fish sandwich was also recommended and was tasteless. What did we learn from this experience: 1. Don't get anything boiled. 2. Keep sauces ready. 3. Ask whether the place has a popular dish and then go from there.

This is just one of those places you have to try when you're in the area. I've never been a big fan of fish tacos, but Lee Be knows how to do them well. The taco comes with fries or beans and you can't really go wrong with either. I always make my boyfriend try the beans while I get the fries so we can have a little of each :) So do yourself a favor and make a trip out--it's worth it!

Looks can be very VERY deceiving.... This small little quaint shack is tucked back into the corner of a small little strip mall on Marco Island. You walk into the shack and just see a small window where you order which is connected to the kitchen. Even though there are only a couple things you can order (which pretty much all include the catch of the day) you practically can't go wrong! The "Catch of the Day" is legitimately the catch of the day, everything they serve is caught by the staff that morning. You literally couldn't get any fresher unless you ate on the boat! The prices are extremely fair for the quantity and high quality that they are able to produce. With the normal meal you get a massive filet of the catch of the day (which was Amber Jack that day) along with a side. I would recommend this to any fresh fish lover.

Fresh fish, good prices. I had the fish and chips and it was good. Not too fried. Worth a try!

We saw a lot of great reviews and high ratings so we figured we'd stop by for a bite to eat. We order the Fish & Shrimp combo which came with French fries. Or should we say we order French fries that came with a small piece of fish and a few (5) Shrimp. The small amount of seafood was not bad, it would have been nice if the proportions were inverted ( fries/seafseafood/fries). As anyone knows in math the larger the denominator the smaller the number. We expected more for $15 and we do not mean more fries. Not recommended unless you really want French fries.

Super fresh fish. Casual with great outdoor seating area. Fish taco and a Corona... Hard to beat.

Fresh, and tasty with the perfect portioned lunch. I would love to come back and try something nice. I had the fish and shrimp combo taco. It was excellent. The taco was basically the size of a burrito. My girlfriend had the shrimp basket and it was also excellent. Highly recommended even in the off season.

Awesome little place on Marco Island! Super fresh fish! Great tacos an fish & chips!! Well worth a visit!

  • Yaniv S.

Fresh and delicious for very casual and quick meal. There is a small outdoor eating space which spruces it up a bit, but you should still be okay with basically eating in a parking lot.

  • Colleen D.

Wow this place is amazing! They added an outdoor deck for more seating which is nice. The day we went they only had hammer jack - it was amazing. B/f had it in a taco - I had it Caribbean style. They gave us a ton of food and I thin we liked the plate! See photos...

Amazing! I wish i could pick this restaurant up, and move it to broward county! Until then, my heart will remain in Marco at Lee Be. When my husband and I went to Marco last weekend, we (of course) yelped the area to check out our dining selection. When i saw this place and its positive reviews about their fresh seafood, I knew we had to give it a try. It's very small, and quite easily overlooked as the location is kind of tucked behind/on the side of a plaza. It's hard to explain. Anyway, you walk in and order at the counter. They give you a number, and you find a seat (inside and outside together have about 6 tables together), and wait for your order. The first day we ate here, i had the grouper sandwich and fries. Excellent! Fish was super fresh, and cooker perfectly. The fries are out-of-this-world and addicting. The 2nd day, i had the fresh catch- which was florida snapper. Even better than the grouper. You can choose from grilled (which is really blackened) or fried. I never got the fried version because i was already getting fries. My hubby got the same thing both times since he was raving about how amazing the shrimp tacos were the first time! He loved them and wouldn't share! They add a touch of yellow curry to their tartar sauce. It was delicious. My only complaint is that the only options for sides are fries or black beans over rice. I'd love a side salad option, but hey, i'm splitting hairs here, because this place is truly and simply one of the best fish establishments. Lady at the counter even recognized us on our 2 nd visit, and service was friendly and fast! Until next time, Lee Be!

Amazing find while enjoying a weekend in Marco Island! I had the Island Style Platter and my husband has the combo fish basket and both were plentiful, flavorful and amazingly fresh! We will definitely be coming back for their fish tacos which looked really yummy!

  • M S.

We went there for lunch with a party of 8. We order the combo basket (shrimp & fish ) both shrimp & fish was over seasoned, most of us couldn't finish our meal. !! For the price I wouldn't recommend this place.

When my parents and I decided to do a day trip to Marco Island, we looked up cheap and fresh places to eat and came across Lee Be Fish. The place is a little off the beaten path, but not too difficult to find using a GPS. For the three of us, we ordered the grilled tuna, 1/2 peel & eat shrimp, and the fish tacos. Everything was very fresh and well prepared! The tuna was delicious served rare and dipped in their soy sauce. My only complaint was that the shrimp wasn't cleaned, so it was annoying to clean the shrimp as we ate it. Otherwise, the meal was a great value and the perfect lunch for a day at the beach!

  • Kelly C.

This place is a hidden gem. Try their grilled fish. Fresh ceviche was delicious with homemade tortilla chips. You order at counter, then take out or sit outside.

A little hard to find, but definitely worth it! Great food and very friendly staff. On our next visit to the Island we will join them again.

Coming to the end of a trip to Marco Island, I've concluded the food here generally sucks. On one hand you have stuffy places serving steak, lobster, and food which must be fancy because it sounds French, tournedos au Louvre or somethimg like that (note: I love all 3, but i don't need to eat them each night, and I'd rather not dress up to eat them while on a beach vacation). On the other hand you have least common denominator tourist joints. And it's all overpriced. Given that, you might think I'm damning Lee Be by faint praise by calling it the best restaurant on Marco. It isn't so. Lee Be is the best restaurant on Marco by light years, and it ROCKS. The menu is small. Fish/shrimp/combo tacos, baskets, sammiches, platters. That's fine with me. Do a few things very well, and I won't get tired of them. Lee Be keeps seasonings simple and sauces rare and on the side. That allows the fish and shrimp to take centet stage. And man, how fresh it is, and the kitchen hits the right notes with seasonings. Prices are a bit high, but totally in line with Marco norms, and I thought my lunch had plenty of food for the price. Staff is aces too. Great place. Check it out.

Our new favorite place on Marco Island. Fish shack with exceptionally fresh seafood. Owner catches the fish and brings it back to the store for customers to enjoy. Eat on the patio and enjoy this quaint place. Combination fish and shrimp tacos with beans and rice are our lunch favorite. Open until 6:30pm, we had grilled snapper for dinner last night and it was the best ever. If you like simple living with fresh seafood made perfectly you MUST try Lee Be Fish Company. It's the best kept secret on Marco!! Service is fast and they are really nice. Order at the window and they call your number when it's ready. You will be pleasantly surprised. Enjoy!!

Go early because when they run out of fish they are done for the day. Worth the price Very cute area of town. It's called old town. Some stores and art galleries to shop we would definitely go back.

This was just a small little space amongst a few other shops but the food was delicious! The lady at the counter was helpful in recommendation and accommodating for our 5 year old. We chatted with her throughout the meal-there is a wall counter off the register that seats about 6 and a table for 4. That's it. The menu literally had just a few items-mainly centered around the catch of the day. We had the snapper tacos and paid extra for grouper blackened as a sandwich. We also had peel and eats and I LOVED their cocktail sauce-perfect amount of chunkiness.

  • Blake H.

So fresh. So delicious. So much food! This is a small place that dishes out big flavor. That's all I have to say. Go try it, you won't be disappointed!

  • Shawntel K.

Taco Heaven. Ordered the fish & shrimp taco. Best I have ever had and I love fish tacos. My husband had the grilled shrimp, fish, black beans and rice. Outstanding. I called ahead, drove 2 minutes from our condo and found this little place. It is quite a find, I will go back another time or two before heading back to O-H-I-O. I won't find anything close to this there.

    (4)
  • Dan C.

Wow!! Delicious!! They catch the fish fresh everyday. The food is the best on the island- so many flavors, GO here NoW!

Best place around for fresh cooked to perfection fish. AMAZING. Come here every time were in the area.

Fresh, fresh, fresh 1.24.14 As you can see from my picture with the Lee of Lee be, lunch was swimming this morning. Seriously?! Delicious grilled fish & shrimp combo was flaky, perfectly flavored with 'spice & herb seasoning' with a touch of cheese and cilantro over a bed of black beans and rice. Pricey but worth it! ($63 for four of us) Warm, tree and umbrella shaded outdoor deck dining. Why Lee 'be'? His workers told me the whenever they were looking for Lee, they say, 'Lee be fishing.' It's 90% of his secret. ------ Bathroom is overseen by the shops. 3 of 4

Amazing. I can't believe that this little fish place, tucked quaintly in a little shopping area on the north side of Marco Island, would be the greatest find of our vacation. This was completely a Yelp choice too... On our way back from the Big Cypress Preserve and an airboat trip, we were starving and wanted some fresh fish...and we found it here. Let me be up front...this place is TINY, really small-only 2 tables and it really seems more for take out, but we ate in and it was great. There's a very limited menu - not quite like the diner in My Cousin Vinny - but very limited. The fish of the day was Yellowtail Snapper, and as Lee, the owner, said "it was swimming the day before." So my son ordered the fried fish platter and my daughter the fried shrimp platter-both came with fries. The shrimp weren't little popcorn shrimp either, they were jumbo shrimp and my daughter had so many of them she couldn't finish them (which was VERY good for me). My son's fish was also amazing...not too much batter, and just delicious. Fries were great too! My wife ordered the fish taco, which is actually a burrito and it came with black beans and rice. Like Chrystal C., she said it was the best fish taco she had ever eaten. It was so good apparently that I wasn't allowed to taste it. As for me, I got the Catch of the Day fish platter-yellowtail snapper with black beans and rice with sour cream, salsa, cheese and cilantro. I'm giving this the "HOLY SH*T" five star rating! Perfectly seasoned and grilled just right, I have never even thought to add these toppings to fish and it was one of the best meals I had while on vacation. Yes, this tiny place tucked into a tough to find area, provided me with one of the best meals on my vacation. The owner worked for 30 yrs @ South Street Seaport and is originally from Brooklyn. He brings amazing fish knowledge and cooking skills to Marco Island and the people who came in and out of his place were all regulars. If I leved here I would be too. If you go to Marco Island-stop at Lee Be Fish for a meal. I promise, you won't be disappointed. I'll be back the next time I'm here!

Amazing fresh fish. Only outdoor dining. This place makes only a few things but all are done very well. Come early cause once they sell out they close. The beans and rice they serve with everything is delicious.

    (5)
  • Sarah G.

This little place is the bomb. I ordered the grilled shrimp basket with rice and black beans and the whole combo was to DIE for! The shrimp were juicy and fresh. Others in my group got the catch of the day (snapper) island style and that was just as delicious. A little pricy for lunch for four of us, but as a sign in the shack said 'fresh seafood isn't cheap and cheap seafood isn't fresh' I'd have to agree! I'd definitely come back to try more if my stay was longer.

    (5)
  • Richard B.

Freshest seafood around. Really cool curried tartar sauce. Unfortunately not on the water, but if you are looking for some really good eats, this is your spot!

  • Dee S.

Brought our catch in from our fishing trip. He made the best fish tacos I've ever had!!!! Served with rice & beans for $8.99. Yummy!

    (5)
  • Stephanie M.

So fresh and delicious! I ordered the grilled fish and shrimp combo, which came with black beans, rice, cheese, sour cream, salsa, onions and cilantro. It was so much food and so worth the price ($15.99) for what you got! I definitely recommend this place for a nice and casual lunch in Marco Island!

    (5)
  • Jason C.

Just good food. We get the grilled fish with rice and beans and it's amazing. A little bit of cheese and sauce on the rice and comes with some really good tarter sauce that we've tried to reproduce. I think there is a bit of curry powder in it.

  • Kellyann C.

If you want a great lunch/early dnner... this is the place. They have 4 things on their menu - Fish Taco, Fish Platter, Fish Sandwich and Fish basket. I can't even describe how yummy. The fish is always a choice of at least two, but it is whatever was caught fresh, so from one day to the next it may change. We also have bought fish and brought it home for dinner! Just wonderful all around!!!!

  • Linda A.

Fabulous ! Mahi mahi with black beans and rice or have Grouper . Out door casual seating after counter service . Best food on the Island . Run don't walk. Sooooo good !

    (5)
  • Jennifer N.

Perfect. The food was fresh and delicious. Goes to prove that simple preparation and quality ingredients are all you need. A small take out joint, there are tables outside. The prices are amazing as well. This is the best seafood you'll get - fresh from the catch. I had the fried grouper with rice and black beans and my husband had the catch of the day - mahi mahi - grilled. We couldn't have been more pleased.

    (5)
  • Nick O.

'Wow' is the word I would use to describe this unassuming and out of the way little place. The service was friendly and quick, and the food... I got a grilled island combo platter and it was amazing. It included a large piece of red snapper caught that morning and real gulf shrimp on a bed of black beans and rice with salsa, cilantro, cheese and sour cream. Well seasoned, cooked perfectly, and the freshest seafood I have had on any gulf vacation, unless I caught it myself. The only thing that I would change would be to have them put their hours on the website as we went there at 8:15 PM one night and they were already closed.

We visit Marco every year and had not heard of this place until our neighbors told us they just had the best fish tacos ever! Living in San Diego that's a pretty bold challenge because we know good fish tacos, so instead of our usual fish place we decided to stop here for dinner I upgraded to the grouper taco and my husband had the combo with the fish of the day and shrimp. Both were served with a black bean and rice that was topped with onion and sour cream Super fresh, well cooked with just enough heat and really tasty Will definitely be back again before heading home

  • Heidi L.

Great, small, quaint place. I had the grilled fish and shrimp basket. The seasoning was great.

    (4)
  • Jaclyn O.

Friendly staff, fresh fish, reasonably priced and plenty of outdoor seating in the courtyard. We enjoyed the fish taco and yellowtail snapper so much the first day we went back 2 days later to try the fresh tuna.

    (5)
  • Robert L.

All it takes is one bite to know that the fish was fresh. We had island platter and the taco combo (fish & shrimp) with fries. Both were excellent. The fish was very meaty and fresh. The taco was very tasty and the fries were awesome. This place is definitely a must for lunch.

    (5)
  • Jeffrey D.

It is the basics, fresh fish, caught that day, prepared simply. Portions of the fish are on the smaller side, but still worth it. Not pretentious, not much room to sit inside. If you are looking for a good restaurant, quick meal, this is the place.

    (4)
  • Garrett G.

Legit fresh fish tacos on Marco. And key lime pie!

    (5)
  • Colleen M.

Not sure how this restaurant received high marks. The service was good but the food was just OK. Our snapper was rubbery. The area where this is located was empty which is usually not a good sign. 1 and done.

  • Mary Y.

AMAZING FRESH FISH! We ordered take out and it was delicious! You could tell the fish was very fresh. I ordered the fried grouper/shrimp combo. The grouper was very good and the shrimp was AMAZING. If I were to go back, I would probably just get the fried shrimp. They had a really good cocktail sauce to go with it. The grouper also came with a good sauce, different than your typical tartar, but still very good! My grandma ordered the grilled grouper and had the rice and beans as a side and said they were very good as well!

  • Max L.

Great food, really fresh. My wife and I biked three miles from the Marriott. Nice outside patio area to eat while there and shops around to look at while you wait. Would have been five stars if they had more of a selection. On the day we went they only had amberjack.

    (4)
  • Vincent C.

Hands down the best fish on the island. Lee and the crew are great. This should be at the top of your list for lunch and fresh fish to bring home to cook also. The prices are way more affordable than paradise and fresher fish. Around 10$ per lunch. And the owners are fishing the food They are selling!!!! We will return lee! Thanks

    (5)
  • Daniel C.

Super fresh. They catch their fish and cook right on the spot. Great shrimp and fish sandwich. Fish taco was awesome too Rice and black bean on the side (raw onion, cilantro, and sour cream in it) was amazing too!

    (5)
  • Kristin M.

Excellent tacos and fresh fish platter. It's a must have every time we are in Marco!!! One of my favorites!!!!

    (5)
  • Lenny C.

We really enjoyed our meal - quaint, small, only a few seats inside - but we went to enjoy fresh gulf coast seafood. And got it! I had a grilled combo snapper and shrimp basket and my wife had the tacos. Fantastic, fresh, delicious. Not for the resort crowd or a romantic interlude. Who cares when the food is so yummy?

    (5)
  • Eames E.

this was one of the only places open in the summer down here and is in old marco. the man is gentle and kind, with smooth skin and the tacos are large in portion. however, what really stands out is the water selection here. there are over 2 types of bottled water for your perusal including Fiji, Arrowhead, and Deja Blue WOW. I had myself quite the night with 3 different waters to sip from. also the food was good at a fair price for a man with such fair skin. during the summer it is really quiet and most of the shops in this quaint area in old marco are shut down so if you are looking to corner and abduct a tinder or match.com place the surrounding area is a good place to "meet"

    (5)
  • Christina M.

Freshest and tastiest fish we ever had. They open at 11 and close when the fish is gone. Nothing fancy. You order inside and eat in the courtyard. A perfect lunch.

    (5)
  • Dennis M.

Great little place when you just want fish. We were disappointed when we found them to be closed that day(Monday?). I look forward to Lee Be when I'm there in June. Returned in June and October. For our last visit we split a platter for a still filling lunch. Quality is consistently excellent.

We really liked our fish choices here. The French fries are excellent. We would definitely go back during our spring break.

  • Donna E.

Best fish taco I have ever had. My husband had the grilled fish platter, excellent. Definitely coming back next time we visit Marco!

    (5)
  • Gena K.

This was excellent. The fish is great and so fresh. The prices are very low, considering the portions. Very very good.

    (5)
  • Natalie B.

Cute location, small and efficient. The fish was fresh and you can construct a gluten and dairy free option with the fish platter (hold the cheese and sour cream). Price wise it wasn't bad. The seating area can be a little busy because it's a walkway. We had a pleasant lunch. Although worthy of note, the fish tacos were actually a fish taco. We thought that was pretty funny.

    (4)
  • Meeko P.

Probably the freshest, best fried fish (Mahi) I have ever had. The basket of fish and shrimp where perfectly lightly breaded and fried, served with some delicious battered seasoned fries along with a curry tartar sauce. The black beans and rice served with the fish taco was also very delicious. Grab a cold one or two because everything is pretty much made to order and you may have to wait 20 - 30 min for your food. Seating is limited to a few tables outside in the courtyard of this small group of shops.

    (4)
  • Chris R.

Got the combo fish and shrimp taco and it was insane. Super fresh, super tasty, supe super mcnasty...after I ate it all these hoe's called me daddy. Absolutely delicious. Some of the best fries I've had as well!

  • M S W.

Great find! Limited menu , but what they do they do great. Order at the counter , eat outside, enjoy your day.

    (4)
  • Griffin R.

Every day there is a new tasting dish at Lee Be's because of the freshly caught cariety of fish. I'm always excited to hear whether they caught snook or grouper or something obscure like mahi-mahi. The employees are all very nice and the food is great. I've had food from here including red snapper, soft shell crabs, and it always hits the spot.

    (5)
  • Mark O.

5 stars for Lee Bee's! Grouper Sandwich, Fish Tacos and Grilled Trio were all awesome! Don't be fooled by the size of the place because it rocks!

  • Alyssa M.

My only regret about dining here is that my husband and I waited until our last night on Marco Island to try it! We both ordered the platter-- one with grouper and the other with snapper. It was simple and absolutely delicious. Large portions, well seasoned and incredibly reasonable prices. Everything about our orders was so fresh and I loved the combination of the fish with black beans and rice, with cheese, cilantro and pico de gallo. Perfect last dinner on Marco. Make sure to get your meal to go (there's not really a lot of space to linger and eat). We discussed after eating that had we found the restaurant our first night, we probably wouldn't have eaten anything else during our whole honeymoon. This spot is definitely worth a trip to the north side of the island. You'll be missing great fish and a great deal if you skip Lee Be Fish!

    (5)
  • Dan L.

Amazing fresh fish. You can watch them prep the fish caught that day right there in the restaurant. Probably the best fish taco I have ever had in my life (mahi mahi and shrimp combo)! It's in a neat secluded strip with other restaurants, shops and a gelato shop. A little hard to find, but definitely worth it!

    (5)
  • Chris G.

Very Fresh Fish, Order and eat outside. Got the Island Platter with Fried Snapper and Shrimp combo. I asked for Cajun seasoning to be added which they did. Served over perfectly seasoned black beans and rice. To my surprise, the cheese salsa and sour cream topping made the dish even better. It was awesome. All I used was a little hot sauce and Everglades season salt to give an extra kick! I will be back! Shrimp were large and fresh and the snapper was fresh and perfectly cooked! Wash down with a cold beer :)

  • K K.

Wonderful, fresh seafood at an extremely reasonable price. The owner is a cool guy who knows he has a good thing going and aims to keep it that way.

  • Scott G.

A friend had tried this spot earlier and so decided to give it a try for lunch. It's a small fish market that serves meals throughout the day (though they close fairly early). Walk in to the counter, reviewed the limited but very good menu, place your order and wait outside. Plenty of tables. We both ordered Fish Island Style, which is mahi mahi or whatever the fresh catch is, served over rice with cheese and sour cream, and very delicious. The table next to us got fish tacos and said they were the best they ever had. It's not easy to find, but worth trying for lunch!

Best fish tacos outside of Southern California. Menu is limited but fresh and good. You're probably going to eat in a common area/courtyard but it's worth it.

What a foodie find! Its great ratings are certainly well earned. First time dining here was so good that we returned the next day.

This hidden little gem is tucked away in a small shopping village on the north side of island. If your looking for ambiance.. This ain't it! If your looking for fresh fish.. You have arrived! The choice of fish for the day were, Cobia, Snapper, and Grouper. I opted for a grilled snapper sandwich with black beans and a cup of fish soup. The sandwich was most Excellent and Fresh! The soup was a very good simple fish bouillabaisse with a load of Fresh fish. A pinch or two of salt would have made it a little better but that's really nitpicking.. The beans garnished with cilantro, onions, sour cream, and cheese was good..Needed a little more cooking time and salt, but again I'm nitpicking. I definitely would recommend!

Unfortunately I was poorly the day my fiancé and I went to Marco Island to check this place out but with that said he thought the food was very good. I didn't eat but he ordered a fish sandwich and some of the fish soup of which he was pleasantly surprised with. A lovely little place tucked away in a quaint little shopping strip. I gave it four stars purely because I didn't get to enjoy the food but that was my downfall not there's. A great place serving fresh fish.

We're big Grouper & Chips fans, though the restaurant itself is not the most gracious of spaces. But as residents of south Naples we're right near Marco Island, so we tried Lee Be Fish, and couldn't have been happier! It's a little shack at the west end of Bald Eagle, just off of Palm (you make a right at the Cafe de Marco sign and go to the end). My 23-year-old son had the grouper and shrimp basket and I had the catch of the day (snapper) and shrimp. Fried, of course!! You only live once! I also got the black beans instead of fries. They usually serve it over rice but are happy to hold the rice if you ask. The fish and shrimp are right off the boat, and not full of breading . And they're the best I've had in Naples, better than Grouper &Chips. There are only about six tables, three outside. It's all about the fresh fish, and it's all that. They also have fresh uncooked fish you can take out, which I will do the next time I'm there.

  • T H.

Had the grouper and shrimp basket ( grilled ) with fries. Very good and fresh. The place is hard to find but is well worth it. They have their own boats and what they catch that day is what they got. The shrimp were fantastic when dipped in their home made tarter sauce. Do not expect a dining room just outside seating and a small countertop inside. If they ever build,or buy a real facility this place would boom. I would rate 5 stars but the location is the only downer.

Might be a little off the beaten path but it's so DELICIOUS!! I had the grilled shrimp basket and my husband got the combo platter. We both agreed it was the best meal we've had in Florida yet! It was a rainy day and we were the only ones there. The cook and owner were both extremely friendly. Thanks for the ono meal, guys!!

Fantastic little eatery tucked in the cutest pastel painted off the path shops! The gal explained they are from Massachusetts and have been fishers all their lives. The case was full of fish caught that morning already fileted and ready for purchase. We ordered at the counter and then ate outside on a lovely brick patio. Nothing fancy but all was perfect! Our favorite was the peel and eat shrimp. The mahi mahi, grouper, black beans and rice, battered seasoned fries and key lime pie were also outstanding! Do not miss this place! It is so tiny and sincere and charming.

9/10. Just went to this place (August 2013) on the way home from a vacation on Marco Island. A buddy of mine brought us here and I wasn't expecting much. The restaurant itself is situated off the road, kind of at the end of a small street. It is stuck among some other shacks and maybe a hotel / motel, so you can easily miss it. I ordered the fish platter with rice and beans. The fish was yellow snapper - grilled and topped with homemade salsa. The fish was easily the best fish I have had in a year, and possibly the best fish I have ever eaten. It was grilled perfectly, and was so moist and flavorful. The salsa that came on top was awesome as well - a great addition to the dish. The rice and beans were pretty standard, but were a little more watery than usual, which actually added to the moisture of the dish (a positive thing). It was all topped with fresh cilantro and a lime wedge (for squeezing) that both enhanced the dish very well. A few things you've got to know before you go. This is a hole in the wall. There is one table in there, and the restaurant itself is hot as hell. I recommend either getting takeout or finding a place outside. But my review is for the food and the owner - a very nice guy who is very passionate about bringing great fish to people. If you are in the area, you need to check this place out. The fish is outstanding. As the owner said to me, "You can't buy this fish anywhere."

Delicious fresh fish! Had the grilled catch of the day and it was amazing. A bit off the the main drag But happy I found this place. Cost was reasonable for such great no frills good food.

Awesome food. I had grilled fish and shrimp, seasoned to perfection. We will go back before we leave the island.

I usually don't review places after one visit, but given the circumstances (vacation), I feel that it's appropriate. Basically the five-star reviews from Yelp are spot on. This is a small place, tucked into a bunch of shops in old town Marco; I expected more of a restaurant but it's really just a counter with a couple of tables inside, though there are plenty more seats outdoors. The menu is likewise small but it has everything you could want, namely freshly caught fish as well as some other seafood options. On the day we went there they were serving snapper and grouper; we got a platter of each plus fish tacos and fried shrimp. The tacos and fried shrimp were both very good (unfortunately the details are a little hazy at this point, having eaten here several weeks ago), but the island platter was the highlight of the meal. Each came with a generous helping of perfectly seasoned, tender fish served on a platter of black beans and rice. In my experience, the snapper was slightly better than the grouper but you really couldn't go wrong either way. The price was fair considering the size of the portions and between four of us, I don't think we finished our four meals entirely. My only disappointment was that we didn't get a chance to return to Lee Be's, as this was probably the best meal we ate in the Marco Island/Naples area and certainly some of the best fish I've ever had.

You have to come here. Hole in the wall. They don't even have to try too hard. They got it.

I've been traveling to Marco Island now for about 2x a year for the past 2yrs w/ my boyfriend and his family. My boyfriends grandmother has a house on Marco Island and its been in the family since the 80's so they are seasoned Marco Islanders. That being said, no one in the family had a clue about this little gem!!! Knowing that this trip was just going to be my boyfriend and I, I decided to do some research on restaurants and bars on the island that I've never been to. THANK GOD I stumbled upon one of the best kept food secrets Marco Island has to offer. This was one of the freshest seafood meals I think I have ever had in my life! I had the Island Style fish platter-I believe it was grouper with black beans and rice with sour cream, salsa, cheese and cilantro. AMAZING!!!!! My whole meal was cooked to perfection, extremely flavorful, and just the right amount that left me wanting more the next day of our trip. My boyfriend had the fried grouper platter which was just as great. It wasn't over cooked and there was just the right amount of breading on the fish. Their tartar sauce is homemade and I believe it had a little bit of yellow curry in it. SOOO GOOD!!!!! The restaurant itself is tucked back in the Old Marco Island shops. There is only one table inside but there are more places to sit outside and around the shops. I absolutely CANT wait to go back to Marco Island again so I can visit this place. I love that its a small business owner and if they run out of fish for the day they close to go catch more! Honestly this is a MUST SEE and EAT place if you are traveling to Marco Island and you are looking for a fresh fish meal. No fancy attire required. I promise if you love fish, you won't be disappointed!

Great little find. We were looking for a fresh seafood market to take food back to our condo to prepare for dinner. After reading the reviews for Lee Be, we knew we at least wanted to check it out for lunch, and perhaps get fish to take back to prepare. This is a great little find in Old Marco. We enjoyed the combo fish tacos for lunch - AMAZING! The fish is FRESH - it's whatever is caught that day and brought in, so check back (call them) to see what they have. Right now, the head guy said they are only closed if they don't have fish. We will be back and get some fresh fish to cook in one night during our stay! Great place!

Small place on Marco Island off the beaten path with only a few items on the menu. Grilled fish sandwich is a bit messy from the tarter but oh so good and clearly very fresh. A hidden gem for lunch where the locals go.

Great quick lunch. Don't be fooled by the small location, drove down from Naples and had the fish taco. Pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back.

Fresh, delicious, friendly service, and it's nice to have a healthy grilled option (i.e. not just fried seafood). It's a small place, so only a table and a couple of bar seats inside; additional seating is outside. Easily five star-worthy!

While visiting Marco Island Apr 2012 My wife and I always hunt for a local catch of fish. We were repeatedly told about, Docks in the nearby fishing town and Paradise Seafood & Gourmet Market... So, We visited the Gourmet Market just to learn they prepare the fish "in the back" and display it in the cooler case. So, I asked a local fella who 'heard about this place' but, didn't know the name..( Lee Be Fish Company ) Lucky, He did know how to get there. and since I'm good with directions and it was only a 2 mile drive from Paradise Seafood & Gourmet Market...we took the trip Boy was it worth it, The Owner ( Lee Be Fish Company) was so friendly and told us they fish 2 times a day Morning and Night ( Nights catch is Mornings offerings, Day catch is nights offering) and what they catch is what is available!! Nice and fresh... We took our fish cleaned and gutted home to cook, but they do have a small menu which is tied to the days catch. Just to aware the hours vary, and they may not be there while the open hours are posted. So call first, it is a small business and worth it, if you can go. So, THIS IS A MUST! go there and enjoy fish prepared on the menu or take a few home for yourself to grill..... Visit their website for more information and menu.

It was all that we hoped it would be. A busy atmosphere but plenty of seating in the courtyard. The fish taco was excellent. I hope we have time to go back. Yum!

Best fish taco I have ever had. Perfectly seasoned, FRESH, with the perfect blend of taco fillings to make it absolutely awesome. I also bought a pound of their red snapper fillets for dinner later - only when I returned back to NJ after vacation did I realize how marked-up the fish was at Lee Be Fish (in NJ it was three times cheaper per pound...maybe the ones at Lee Be Fish are three times as fresh? Who knows!). Nevertheless, the snapper was delicious and fresh. These guys know their fish! You will not be disappointed. Expect to spend $8-15 pp for lunch. Also on weekends or even some times during the day they may run out of fish.

Excellent find on Marco Island. Thank you Yelp! It is a little hard to find, but well worth the effort. We had the combo taco which was 1 very large taco stuffed with local snapper and shrimp. This was an excellent taco with just the right amount of seasoning on the fish and a little heat. We also had the Island plate with Grouper and it was DELICIOUS! The grouper was the best dish I have had so far during my visit. The place is very small and they have 2 tables inside so you may want to plan for takeout. If you do stay they have beer and wine. This is as fresh as it gets and it seems like they only cook what they catch that day!

Read the reviews on yelp and decided to try it out while in Marco on vacation and WOW. I had the tacos and my husband had the fish platter. Delicious!! The only thing I was sad about is that we waited to go there at the end of our vacation and couldn't return again before we left. Try it out. You won't be disappointed!

If you are on Marco don't miss this place! My husband and I shared a combo basket with shrimp and fish. We paid a little extra to have fresh grouper. It was fabulous! There are great little outdoor tables where you can enjoy your food along with a beverage. The staff is super sweet. Enjoy!!!

Delicious! It's a hidden jewel. Many years coming to the island and it's wasn't until we found this on Yelp. Fish and shrimp basket grilled was unbelievable. Fish tacos were huge and tasty. Side options are limited but tasty.

Only the freshest fish sold here. We buy some to grill at home and also come for lunch. Fish & chips & fish tacos are amazing. Gotta be really hungry to order fish platter w/ rice and beans. Only downside is they are not open sometimes.

Went for lunch here on a Sunday and had the fish & shrimp tacos with black beans and rice. The food was great -- nice spices with a bit of heat -- and the service was good. I liked the outdoor seating in the courtyard. Would be really amazing if it were on the water or near a water view.

This is a tiny restaurant where you come up to the counter and order your food and pay and wait for your number to be called. Prices are about $12 - $20 average. They have perhaps 3 or 4 high stools along a counter for you to eat at, but I never saw people eating in there. Why would you when the weather is nice and they have shared outdoor seating with the other establishments? The scenery in the immediate area is quaint and peaceful. I ordered the fried fresh catch (fish) basket which came with a thick filet of fresh delicious fish with cilantro and a lime wedge for squeezing and a small side bowl of rice and black beans mixed with onions and sour cream. This is by far one of the better fish I have had in any establishment. It was so good that we came back again another day and I ordered the same thing. This time it was a different fish as the filet was thinner and on the drier side and fell apart in the dish, but they gave about 2.5 filets to compensate for the thinness. Too bad as I was looking forward to the exact same fish I had the other day. I can't fault the chef for the drier fish as that was the inherent properties of a thinner fillet. The flavor was still there but just not the same. The side of black beans and rice however was missing the rice and cream cheese and cheese and onions that I had on there the other day. It was just black beans and near liquidy cream cheese only. So they do have an issue with consistency on the sides. The fries are excellent however - crunchy, coated, thick and flavorful.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & BLAND FOOD! We went to Lee Be's after someone recommended us to them. We arrived at 5pm and there were 2 small groups waiting for their food and one small group in front of us. It wasn't very busy. It was our turn to order and for some reason, the guy at the counter could not handle it. He could not get our order right despite how clear we made it. He got so mad that he furiously scribbled out the order he was writing and made a loud grunting noise and said to us, "come on guys, it's way to busy for this right now"... He made us feel so uncomfortable and rushed. It wasn't that busy in there. Additionally, if he felt a little stressed from other things, there was no need to take it out on customers. Nevertheless, we knew he was stressed and didn't take his comment personally and we shook it off. I continued one more time to tell him our order slowly and this time he didn't even want to listen to me. He interrupted and proceeded to say, "2 grilled, 2 fried. Great" and gave the order to the chef. I was so upset at that point I left and had the other person in my group finish the order. The guy at the counter was so rude. I have never met someone so inconsiderate...to customers especially. We are the ones giving him business. He had no right to treat us that way. He completely ruined my experience there. This place should really reconsider who they have working their front counter. As for the food, it was under seasoned and bland. We tried both the grilled and fried snapper as well as the grilled grouper. All which were bland. The fish was very tender don't get me wrong, but there was no seasoning and after a few bites in your mouth, the fish was tasteless. The best thing on the plate were the fries. I will not be coming back here, nor recommending this place to anyone. Terrible customer service and bland food...I can find better.

Great food, a bit pricy, but it was worth it to us for a lunch, as we will snack for supper. Seasoned fries, a nice lunch portion of grouper in a basket, and mahi mahi on black beans and rice with two cans of Sprite was $32+.. A bit expensive for plastic basket lunch... just open for lunch. 10-4 pm closed Monday and Tuesday Got some fresh fish? Came from a little frig, in back, wrapped in paper, the glass fresh fish display case was empty, bought a bit of grouper for supper.

Six stars! The food here solid, simple and good - aka fantastic! Service was excellent! If your looking for fresh seafood in a simple setting, this is the place for you. Even their side dishes (in my case beans and rice, my wife's ranch fries) were very tasty and not run of the mill. I was told that the fish used by the restaurant is caught by lee be fish co boats and off loaded from the pier at the back of the restaurant. Bottom line - the place rocked and was a fitting lace to spend the last days of my wedding anniversary and stay on the island at! Great job lee be! Kurt

Great food. Really fresh seafood. So fresh that when they run out of what they caught that day, they close and go home. Went there yesterday at 4 for a late lunch/early dinner and by the time we left at 5 they were already closed. So get there early! Outdoor seating in a quiet location for a relaxing and fantastic meal.

My husband and I were driving around Marco island today and wanted to stop somewhere for lunch so we checked out yelp for something local. Low and behold, Lee Be Fish Company was the first listing we figured you can't beat 5 stars, so we decided to check it out. Well, all the other yelpers were correct, this was the best fish ever!! I got the fish tacos and the hubby got the shrimp tacos and they were both amazing!!! The owner was super knowledgeable and super friendly. This was a great stop on a whim and next time we are in Marco, we will be back!!!

Ordered the Island Combo Basket (grilled) over rice with black beans and brought it back to the hotel room. The aroma in the car was great and the food was even better. The only thing that prevents a 5* rating in my book is the paper plates and plastic utensils.

Best fish we have ever had. Friend had snapper, I had grilled shrimp. I felt like I had never really had shrimp before, this was so much better than anything I had ever had. The french fries were perfect also. You order at the counter and they give you the food in a plastic basket. There are tables outside in a little courtyard. It is certainly not a fancy place but the food was right on.

This was a great meal! The seafood was so fresh and well-prepared! I had the fried fish and chips and my only regret was that I couldn't finish the entire, large serving. The fish was lightly breaded and served with a delicious curry sauce. The chips were among the best I've ever had. My daughter had the fish platter, grilled. The fish was perfectly cooked, served over rice and beans, and the portion was huge. My husband had the fish taco with rice and beans. It was satisfying and full of flavor. His portion size was just right. Seating on the patio was pleasant on a perfect weather day. The men running the place were friendly and seemed sincerely pleased that we liked our meal so much. Highly, highly recommended.

Five stars for Marco, probably four somewhere else. Great place, really fresh and well prepared fish, best place I have eaten on Marco. Tiny informal place, high quality fish, cold beers in cooler, what's not to like?

Excellent!!! We watched the owner filet a yellow snapper and a trigger fish right in front of us. He talked to our kids and explained why it was called a trigger fish. Then grilled it on the spot. Can't get any fresher than that! Great flavor and atmosphere!

After reading all the reviews about this place, we were looking forward to a great fish taco. We were very disappointed. There was hardly any fish in our tacos. We were expecting nice big pieces of fish, but, got little flakes or chunks of fish. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but, we were the only ones in there, so not sure what the problem was.

Great food. Fresh fish - yum! Between the four of us, we all tried something different. Fish tacos, grilled snapper, grilled grouper, and field fish and chips -- all excellent. The staff personnel were very pleasant and friendly. Definitely informal but good eats!

  • Anne C.

So small we almost couldn't find it but so glad we did. Fresh Florida fish which has unfortunately become harder and harder to find. It's served simple and only three ways, fried, blackened or grilled and side options are fries or black beans and rice but it's delicious. We need more places like this and not those fancy places with the $10 drinks and $25 or more seafood plates of frozen fish everyone seems to serve.

We have moved back to Florida after many years in Arizona. Lee Be is tops BY FAR on Marco. Great people and great fresh fish.
